We bring together clinical understanding, real-world experience, and practical support that fits into everyday environments. For children, families, educators, and communities.
We are two allied health practitioners. An occupational therapist and a behaviour support practitioner with deep roots in early childhood, education, and communication support.
Across therapy, education, and family systems, we kept seeing the same gap. Strong knowledge, but not always translated in ways that make a real difference for children, or the people around them.
So we built Nestara. A space that brings together clinical understanding, real-world experience, and practical support that fits into everyday environments.
Jessica Derkacs & Natasha Di Battista
We work alongside childcares, kindergartens, and schools, bringing support directly into the environments where children learn and develop.
Structured, play-based group programs delivered within the kindergarten room. Targeting regulation, communication, fine motor, transitions, and participation.
Practical strategies for classroom structure, transitions, communication modelling, regulation, and behaviour. Support that is embedded into everyday practice, not added on.
Information sessions, home strategies, and referral guidance. Helping families understand what is happening and feel confident about what comes next.
Supporting children and families through the move from kindergarten to primary school. Building confidence, independence, and readiness at each child's own pace.
Understanding behaviour through a communication lens. Supporting children to feel safe, express themselves, and participate in ways that are authentic to them.
Guidance on allied health referrals, documentation support, and navigating systems like the NDIS and school readiness funding. Clear, practical, and supportive.
It is not the child that needs fixing. It is about understanding, adjusting, and creating the conditions for children to participate and belong.
We prioritise safety, belonging, and relational support over surface-level compliance. Every child deserves to feel safe to be seen.
Families know their children best. Our role is to support, guide, and work alongside them.
Strong clinical knowledge translated into strategies that are clear, practical, and usable in everyday settings.
Support should not depend on postcode or plan. We work within services and communities, not just around individuals.
A space where children feel understood, safe to be seen, and supported to belong. Where families feel supported and educators feel equipped.
Whether you are a family, educator, or service looking for support, we are here to talk it through.
We work within childcares, kindergartens, schools, and community settings across metropolitan Melbourne. Support is delivered in the environments where children learn and develop, not in a separate clinic.
If you are a service or family in the Melbourne metro area and want to explore how we can help, we would love to hear from you.
